Rowan Cardi modified with sweater app

Hello!

I thought I would share with you some of my own knitted garments, that I have either knitted entirely  using my Knitsthatfit app, or modified using the knitsthatfit sweater app.

The first is my most recent completed UFO!  It is a Rowan pattern for a Fairisle Cardigan, called Rustic. It is from the Rowan Knitting and Crochet magazine number 40.  I knitted most of it last winter, then put it to one side when I was developing the apps. All that remained was to  sew it up and to knit the button and neck bands.  I had been wanting to knit this cardigan for years, I just love the colours and the designs, but the original pattern was not as fitted as I wanted it to be, so I used the same calculations that I have used in my KnitsThatFit sweater app, to determine the stitches and rows for the body, and to include some side shaping – the original pattern has no waist shaping.  So here is the finished article – I think I need to do some work on my modelling!

I think this is a good example of how you can use my app to make sure that your knitted masterpieces fit properly 😊.  I have to say that I am rather pleased with it!

For comparison, this how the the original unmodifed Cardigan looks – it was also featured in Simply knitting in January 2007.
